Tasting Notes
Bright and inviting in appearance, this Riesling shows the rich yet precise character expected of a high-quality Auslese. The nose opens with ripe peach, apricot, mirabelle plum and candied citrus, followed by nuances of floral honey, herbs and cool slate minerality. On the palate, it is concentrated, juicy and remarkably clear, with refined sweetness supported by lively, stimulating acidity. The finish is long, mineral and delicately spiced. Its balance of fruit, sweetness and freshness makes it approachable in its youth, while the concentration and acidity provide excellent potential for further bottle ageing.

Production
The wine comes from the steep, slate-rich vineyards of the Mosel, where a cool climate and extended ripening period encourage aromatic precision and natural freshness. For this Auslese, only fully ripe and overripe grapes are selectively harvested. Gentle handling during vinification preserves the fruit’s natural sweetness, vibrant Riesling acidity and clear expression of origin, resulting in a nuanced wine with impressive inner tension.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. This elegant sweet Riesling is a natural partner for foie gras, blue cheese, fruit-based desserts and delicately spiced Asian dishes. It is particularly well suited to apple or apricot tart, and can also be enjoyed on its own as a contemplative wine for special occasions. Decanting is generally not necessary, although a brief period of aeration in the glass can reveal additional aromatic layers.
