Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, vibrant ruby color. The nose is immediately expressive, with lifted aromas of orange peel, red currant, red raspberry, and wild berry bramble, layered with warm spice notes of cinnamon, clove, and peppercorn. On the palate, the wine is concentrated yet energetic, with a dense tannin structure and mouthwatering acidity that keeps the fruit alive and focused. As it opens, savory herbal nuances of herbes de Provence and dried sage add complexity and dimension. This is a Zinfandel with excellent balance and the potential to develop beautifully over the next several years.

Production
Papera Vineyard sits on the eastern side of Laguna de Santa Rosa in the Russian River Valley, a prized cool-climate area in Sonoma County. The vines were planted in 1934 and are trained in a head-pruned style, with most of the vineyard dry-farmed, encouraging deep root systems and naturally concentrated fruit. This old-vine terroir gives the wine its distinctive intensity, aromatic detail, and layered complexity.

This is an ideal match for grilled or roasted meats, especially lamb, short ribs, pepper-crusted steak, or barbecue with a slightly sweet-spicy glaze.
