Tasting Notes
In the glass, expect a pale gold color with a slight greenish shimmer, reflecting both freshness and maturity. The nose typically shows classic Mosel Riesling aromas of ripe peach, apricot, citrus blossom, and slate-driven minerality, often with subtle honeyed and petrol nuances developing with age. On the palate, the wine is lush yet remarkably balanced, offering sweet stone fruit, ripe citrus, and a vibrant streak of acidity that keeps everything lifted and focused. The finish is long, elegant, and mineral, with excellent aging potential thanks to the combination of residual sugar, acidity, and the Mosel’s naturally graceful structure.

Production
This wine comes from the steep slate slopes of the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard in the Mosel, a site celebrated for its excellent sun exposure and ability to produce wines of great finesse. The cool climate and mineral-rich soils help preserve freshness while encouraging slow ripening, which is ideal for producing expressive Riesling with depth and precision. As a Spätlese Süss, the grapes are harvested late to achieve higher natural ripeness, and vinification is typically carried out carefully to preserve aromatics, purity, and balance.

Food & Serving
This sweet Riesling pairs beautifully with spicy Asian cuisine, foie gras, blue cheese, fruit-based desserts, or simply enjoyed on its own as a refined digestif wine. Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is generally not necessary unless the bottle is showing significant bottle age and you want to give the aromas a little more room to unfold.
