Tasting Notes
Pale lemon in the glass, this Riesling typically shows a bright, refined appearance with excellent clarity. The nose is often intensely mineral and layered, with aromas of citrus zest, green apple, white peach, herbs, and smoky slate nuances. On the palate, it is dry, focused, and energetic, with racy acidity driving flavours of lemon, lime, orchard fruit, and a distinctly stony, saline backbone. The finish is long and precise, with the concentration and structure to develop beautifully over time. While already compelling in youth, this wine has strong aging potential and should gain complexity, depth, and subtle honeyed notes over several years.

Production
This wine originates from the legendary Bernkasteler Doctor vineyard in the Mosel, a steep and highly regarded site known for its slate soils and exceptional exposure, which help produce Riesling of remarkable purity and tension. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand, reflecting the demanding terrain and the need for selective picking in a site of this quality. Vinification is carried out to preserve freshness and terroir expression, typically with a restrained, precise approach that allows the vineyard’s mineral character to lead.

This dry Riesling is an excellent match for refined dishes such as shellfish, crab, sushi, roasted poultry, and lightly spiced Asian cuisine. It also pairs beautifully with asparagus, fresh goat cheese, and dishes featuring herb-driven sauces. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though brief aeration can help if the wine is very young.
