As a Grosses Gewächs, it represents the estate’s top-tier vineyard expression, combining intensity, finesse, and impressive site character.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Riesling shows a bright, luminous appearance with a generous and inviting profile. The nose opens with warm, ripe fruit alongside nuances of wild herbs and wet stone, giving the wine both charm and complexity. On the palate, it is broad and expressive, with plenty of power balanced by a sleek, elegant structure. The mineral depth from the red-hued soils brings definition and length, while the generous fruit gives it immediate appeal. It is enjoyable now, but will gain further complexity and personality with a few more years in bottle.

Orbel is one of Rheinhessen’s benchmark vineyard sites, prized for its south-facing exposure and mineral-rich red soils on the Roter Hang. These conditions provide excellent ripening for Riesling while preserving freshness and structure, and the wine is sourced from selected top parcels qualified for Grosses Gewächs status.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with grilled shellfish, roast chicken, venison terrine, and creamy fresh cheeses. Serve it slightly chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, to let its aromatic detail and mineral drive shine. Decanting is not essential, but a short aeration can help open up its aromas if served young.
