Wayfarer WF2 Chardonnay 2021

Wayfarer WF2 Chardonnay 2021 is a beautifully focused Sonoma Coast Chardonnay that delivers the hallmark freshness, energy, and texture the region is known for. Made entirely from estate-grown fruit in a very limited release, it offers exceptional quality and a true sense of place in every glass.

Tasting Notes
Pale gold in the glass, this Chardonnay opens with lifted aromas of freshly cut flowers, nectarine, vanilla cream, and a touch of ripe pineapple. On the palate, it is bright and lively, with notes of citrus peel and a clean, mouthwatering salinity that reflects its coastal origin. Richly textured yet beautifully precise, it finishes with impressive freshness and length. While delicious now, it also has the structure to develop gracefully over the next few years.

Production
The grapes are hand-harvested during the cool night hours and carefully hand-sorted at the winery to preserve purity and freshness. Fruit is gently whole-cluster pressed, then fermented in 10% new French oak barrels, with the same attention to detail given to Wayfarer’s flagship Chardonnay. The wine is aged for 10 months before bottling, and only 530 cases were produced.

Food & Serving
This Chardonnay is a natural match for roast chicken, grilled lobster, butter-poached seafood, creamy pasta dishes, or simply seared scallops with a squeeze of lemon. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C, and while decanting is not necessary, a little time in the glass can help the aromas open beautifully.
