Built from clones 37 and Dijon 777, it leans into vivid red fruit, floral detail, and layered complexity, making it a standout expression of premium California Pinot Noir.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby hue that hints at its concentration and freshness. The nose is immediately inviting, with aromas of fresh strawberries, red cherries, violets, rhubarb, mint, and truffle, unfolding with impressive clarity and finesse. The palate mirrors the aromatics beautifully, bringing forward raspberries, dark plums, and subtle spice alongside the wine’s bright red-fruited core. It finishes long and graceful, with enough structure and balance to age confidently for several years while already being highly enjoyable now.

Production
Golden Mean comes from Wayfarer Vineyard, where sandstone-rich soils contribute minerality, tension, and aromatic lift to the wines. The fruit was harvested and sorted by hand, fully de-stemmed before pressing, then fermented and matured for 15 months in French oak barrels, 67% of which were new, adding depth and refinement without overwhelming the wine’s fruit purity.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir is a natural match for roast duck, quail, salmon, mushroom dishes, and herb-roasted chicken, as well as earthy vegetarian plates with truffle or root vegetables. Serve it slightly cool, around 15–16°C, and consider decanting for 20–30 minutes if drinking young to let the aromatics open fully.
