A village-level Chardonnay from Chassagne-Montrachet, Vincent Girardin’s Vieilles Vignes bottling offers a classic expression of one of the Côte de Beaune’s most celebrated white-wine appellations. Chassagne-Montrachet has been an Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée since 1937 and is especially renowned for its white Burgundy.

Tasting Notes
Chassagne-Montrachet Chardonnay commonly shows a pale gold hue, with aromas of citrus, orchard fruit and subtle floral or mineral notes. On the palate, expect ripe fruit balanced by freshness and a rounded texture; the precise profile will depend on the individual bottling and its development.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled, around 10–12°C. It should suit roast chicken, seared scallops, creamy fish dishes or soft-ripened cheeses. A young bottle can be opened shortly before serving; extended decanting is generally unnecessary.

Vincent Girardin established his domaine in Santenay in 1982 and became known for wines from Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. The producer’s range spans several appellations, including Chassagne-Montrachet, reflecting the region’s tradition of expressing the character of individual origins.
