Description

Vincent Dancer Meursault Les Corbins 2021 is a refined white Burgundy that beautifully captures the tension and elegance of this cooler, low-yielding vintage. Sourced from the Les Corbins lieu-dit on the northern side of Meursault, it’s a Chardonnay that balances generous, gourmand fruit with chiselled freshness. This is a site-specific Meursault for those who appreciate precision and purity over overt opulence.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a luminous pale gold hue with subtle green reflections, hinting at its freshness and youth. The nose opens with detailed aromas of ripe pear, mandarin oil and citrus zest, layered with notes of fresh brioche dough, crushed nuts and a delicate touch of nutmeg and spice. As it breathes, more floral and chalky nuances emerge, underlining its mineral core. On the palate, the 2021 Les Corbins is medium to full-bodied with a satin-like texture and a supple, almost creamy mid-palate, wrapped around a bright, lively spine of acidity. Flavours of orchard fruit, citrus confit and lightly toasted pastry are woven with a fine saline edge and a discreet, well-integrated oak influence. The finish is long, seamless and mouthcoating, leaving a lingering impression of citrus, spice and stony minerality. Enjoyable in its youth for its energy and charm, it should evolve gracefully over 6–10 years from vintage, gaining complexity and more pronounced hazelnut and honeyed notes with time in bottle.

Production
Les Corbins lies on the northern side of Meursault, on relatively stony, limestone-rich soils with clay that help produce wines combining ripe fruit with tension and freshness. Vincent Dancer farms his vines organically and with low yields, focusing on meticulous work in the vineyard to ensure healthy, balanced fruit at harvest. Grapes are picked by hand at optimal ripeness, sorted carefully, and gently pressed before a spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The wine is traditionally vinified and aged in French oak barrels—used and only modestly new—to respect the purity of the terroir, followed by further aging in tank before bottling with minimal intervention and a light touch of sulfur to preserve finesse and clarity.

Food & Serving
This Meursault Les Corbins 2021 is a superb partner for refined seafood dishes such as poached turbot, scallops in a light butter sauce, or grilled langoustines, as well as classic pairings like roast chicken with morel cream, veal blanquette or lobster with tarragon. It also works beautifully with richer vegetarian dishes featuring mushrooms, truffle, or aged hard cheeses such as Comté and Gruyère. Serve at 11–13°C to allow its aromas and texture to unfold gradually. A short decant of 20–30 minutes is recommended in its youth to let the wine open and release its more subtle nutty and floral nuances.

Producer
Domaine Vincent Dancer, based in Chassagne-Montrachet, is widely regarded as one of the most exciting and precise producers in modern Burgundy. Founded in the 1990s when Vincent took over family holdings, the estate has steadily built a reputation for crystalline, terroir-driven Chardonnays and Pinots that are both pure and understated. Dancer was among the early adopters of organic farming in the Côte de Beaune, with an unwavering commitment to low yields, careful vineyard work and minimal intervention in the cellar. His Meursaults, including Les Corbins, have become sought after by Burgundy enthusiasts for their finesse, energy and ability to translate individual lieux-dits with remarkable clarity.
