Villa Russiz Collio Friulano 2025 is a poised, characterful white wine that highlights Friulano’s fresh, rounded style and distinctive almond notes. Made in Collio, where Alpine air meets Adriatic breezes, it reflects a winegrowing tradition at Villa Russiz that dates back to 1868.

Tasting Notes
Bright straw yellow with greenish reflections, it opens with elegant aromas of chamomile, wildflowers and almond. The palate is rounded yet lively, balancing citrus freshness with a subtle saline, iodine-like edge and a persistent finish. Enjoy it young for its freshness and aromatic clarity. Its time on fine lees adds texture, though no specific extended aging potential is indicated.

Production
The grapes are hand-harvested in September during the cooler hours to preserve their aromatic character. Grown on south-facing hillsides around Capriva del Friuli, the vines benefit from the meeting of Alpine and Adriatic influences, while the region’s marl soils contribute to the wine’s clear aromatic profile and energetic palate. Whole clusters are gently pressed, then fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel. The wine remains on fine lees for at least eight months, also in stainless steel.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled, around 10–12°C. Its freshness and almond character suit seafood, grilled fish, shellfish and vegetable dishes; it is also a natural match for prosciutto and other delicate cured meats. Decanting is not necessary—simply open shortly before serving.

Producer
Founded in 1868 by Count Teodoro de La Tour, Villa Russiz is based among the hills of Capriva del Friuli in the heart of Collio. The estate has cultivated vineyards here for more than a century and a half, producing wines shaped by the area’s marl soils and distinctive climate. This Friulano has also been highlighted for its quality in a guide from the Italian Sommelier Association.
