Description
Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label is the house’s iconic non-vintage Champagne, offered here in magnum format for extra elegance and slower aging. A benchmark blend led by Pinot Noir, it combines structure, finesse and freshness in a style that has made Veuve Clicquot one of Champagne’s most recognizable names.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a brilliant golden hue with a lively, persistent mousse. The nose opens with notes of white fruits, citrus, brioche and delicate pastry, supported by subtle hints of almond and ripe orchard fruit.
On the palate, the wine is firm and structured at first, reflecting the dominance of Pinot Noir, then becomes rounder and softer through Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. There is good freshness, a creamy mid-palate and a balanced, dry finish with enough depth to keep drinking interesting. The magnum format helps preserve freshness and can give the wine even greater harmony over time.
Production
This Champagne is blended from 55% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier, with 25–40% reserve wines adding consistency and complexity to the house style. The dosage is 9 g/L, keeping the wine in a classic Brut profile. Sourced from Champagne’s chalky terroirs, the blend reflects the region’s cool climate and the careful selection and blending that define Veuve Clicquot’s production philosophy.
Food & Serving
Serve at 8–10°C to best show the Champagne’s freshness and texture. It works beautifully with oysters, shellfish, fried seafood, sushi, roast chicken, creamy canapés and hard cheeses; decanting is not recommended, but a brief rest in the glass can help the aromas open up.
Producer
Champagne Veuve Clicquot is one of the great historic houses of Champagne, founded in 1772 and elevated to international fame under the leadership of Madame Clicquot in the early 19th century. The house is known for innovation, a powerful Pinot Noir-driven style and a strong reputation for consistency, with Yellow Label standing as one of its most celebrated cuvées.
