Production
The name Darscho refers to a salt lake in the Seewinkel, east of Lake Neusiedl, near Apetlon. The Chardonnay comes from Velich vineyard parcels in the area, where the vines are reported to be 20 to 40 years old. Grapes are selectively hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented and matured in French barriques, used with restraint.

Try it with roast chicken, grilled fish, creamy pasta or dishes featuring mushrooms; these pairings complement Chardonnay’s fruit and measured oak. Serve lightly chilled, around 10–12°C. A short time in the glass should be enough to let the aromas unfold; decanting is optional.
