Velenosi Querciantica is a beautifully expressive Lacrima di Morro d’Alba Superiore that shows why this historic Marche appellation has such a devoted following. Made from the aromatic Lacrima grape, it stands out for its deep color, floral lift, and a supple yet structured style that feels both distinctive and inviting.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a ruby-red color with vivid violet reflections. The nose is immediately generous, offering intense aromas of strawberries and morello cherries, lifted by elegant notes of violet and rose. On the palate, Querciantica is fleshy and smooth, with good volume and polished tannins that give the wine shape without taking away its softness. It finishes with a pleasant, lingering aftertaste, and while it can be enjoyed young for its freshness and aromatic purity, it also has the structure to develop nicely over the short to medium term.

Production
The grapes come from the San Marcello vineyards in the province of Ancona, in the heart of Marche, where the vines are rooted in predominantly clay-based, fertile soils. The vines are trained using spur-pruned cordon, a method that helps maintain balance and supports the variety’s expressive aromatic character. After harvest, the grapes are destemmed and moved to stainless steel tanks for controlled fermentation. The wine undergoes around 20 days of skin maceration, with daily pump-overs in closed fermenters to preserve freshness and capture the grape’s primary aromas. This careful vinification helps shape the wine’s rich color, floral complexity, and smooth texture.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for hearty first courses, roasted beef, and mature cheeses. Serve it at 16–18°C, and decant for about an hour if you want to bring out the full aromatic range and soften the wine’s profile even further.
