Tasting Notes
Deep, refined, and beautifully composed, the wine shows a sophisticated bouquet of graphite, sun-ripened blackcurrant, blackberry leaves, and cloves, gradually opening into dried flowers, leather, mature cherry, cedar, tobacco, and dark chocolate. On the palate it is weightless yet intense, with ultra-fine tannins, layered notes of white pepper, licorice, mocha, and minerals, and a vibrant freshness that keeps everything precise and lifted. The finish is long, elegant, and detailed, with the kind of depth and balance that has made Único legendary. Already impressive now, it also has the structure and concentration to continue aging gracefully for many years.

Production
Made from 90% Tempranillo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, Único is sourced from Vega Sicilia’s finest vineyards in Castilla y León, where the climate and soils contribute both power and freshness. The estate is known for meticulous vineyard selection and exceptionally patient cellar work, with the wine typically aged for around a decade before release, including about six years in oak, allowing its complexity to fully integrate before reaching the market.

Food & Serving
This is a superb wine for refined dishes such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, game, truffle risotto, or slow-braised meat with earthy sauces. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended to let the wine open fully and reveal its many layers.
