Tuli Chardonnay 2021 is a fresh, inviting California Chardonnay that showcases the cool-climate elegance of Sonoma Carneros alongside the richness and generosity you expect from premium coastal fruit. Crafted by winemaker Joe Wagner, one of California’s most innovative and influential names, it brings together fruit from multiple vineyards for a layered, balanced style with a polished oak signature.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a beautiful light golden color that hints at both freshness and depth. The nose is immediately appealing, with aromas of pear, baked apple, pineapple, and a subtle lift of citrus that keeps everything bright and vibrant. On the palate, the wine opens with notes of Fuji apple, pear, and honeydew melon, followed by gentle oak, a creamy texture, and a clean citrus finish. Thanks to its structure and balanced use of French oak, it should drink well now and continue to develop gracefully over the next few years.

Production
The Chardonnay grapes come from several vineyard sites along the Pacific Coast in Sonoma Carneros, where the cool maritime influence helps preserve freshness and natural acidity while building ripe fruit character. The fruit is harvested from different parcels to capture a range of expressions, then whole-cluster pressed and matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 50% new oak adding complexity and texture without overwhelming the wine.

Food & Serving
This Chardonnay is a natural match for roast chicken, creamy seafood dishes, grilled lobster, or rich pasta with mushrooms and butter-based sauces. Serve it lightly chilled at around 10–12°C, and decanting is not necessary, though a little time in the glass will help the oak and fruit open up beautifully.

Tuli is one of Joe Wagner’s newer projects, but it already reflects the same ambition and craftsmanship that have made him a major force in California winemaking.
