Tasting Notes
Pale straw yellow in the glass, it typically shows a bright, clean appearance that hints at its freshness and purity. The nose is expressive and layered, with delicate floral tones, ripe pear, apple, and subtle mineral nuances, all delivered with the aromatic finesse that defines Tramin’s style. On the palate, Unterebner Pinot Grigio is dry, focused, and textured, balancing ripe orchard fruit with a vibrant spine of acidity and a fine mineral finish. The high-altitude fruit gives the wine lift and definition, while the depth from old-vine or premium-site selection adds structure and length. It has the class to develop gracefully for a few years in bottle, gaining more complexity and nuance with time.

Production
This wine comes from Tramin’s top Pinot Grigio hillside vineyards at over 450 meters above sea level in Trentino-Alto Adige, where cooler mountain conditions help preserve freshness, aromatic clarity, and natural acidity. The vineyards benefit from a well-balanced alpine terroir with excellent diurnal shifts, and the grapes are carefully selected from the best plots before gentle vinification to protect purity and site expression.

Food & Serving
A versatile and elegant white, Unterebner Pinot Grigio works beautifully with shellfish, grilled fish, risotto, white meats, and refined vegetable dishes. Serve it chilled at around 8–10°C to highlight its freshness and aromatic detail; decanting is not usually necessary, though a short aeration can help open the wine if served very young.
