Tommaso Bussola’s Amarone della Valpolicella Classico TB 2020 is a powerful yet finely tuned expression of one of Veneto’s most iconic styles. Crafted from the traditional Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara blend, it combines richness, precision, and deep regional character in a way that has made Amarone one of Italy’s most admired red wines.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Amarone typically shows a deep ruby to garnet colour with concentrated intensity. The nose is layered and expressive, with ripe black cherry, dried plum, fig, sweet spice, cocoa, leather, and subtle balsamic and herbal tones. On the palate it is full-bodied and plush, with impressive depth, ripe dark fruit, savoury complexity, and the hallmark warmth and structure of Amarone. The finish is long and persistent, with polished tannins and balanced acidity that support excellent aging potential; in a good cellar, it should continue to evolve beautifully for many years.

Production
Sourced from the Valpolicella Classico zone in Veneto, this wine reflects the limestone-rich hills and varied microclimates that give Amarone its balance of power and finesse. The grapes are traditionally harvested by hand, with careful selection of ripe bunches before the appassimento process, where they are dried to concentrate flavour and texture. Fermentation and ageing are carried out with great attention to detail to preserve the wine’s depth, structure, and aromatic complexity.

Food & Serving
This is a wine that shines alongside rich, savoury dishes such as braised short ribs, venison, game stews, aged cheeses, or risotto with mushrooms and truffle. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours to allow the bouquet to open fully and the texture to soften.
