Tiefenbrunner Turmhof Gewurztraminer 2023

Tiefenbrunner Turmhof Gewürztraminer is a richly aromatic white wine from Alto Adige that highlights the variety’s natural perfume and finesse. Crafted from 100% Traminer Aromatico, it combines expressive fruit, floral lift, and a notably polished texture, backed by the heritage of Tiefenbrunner, one of the region’s historic estates founded in 1848.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it ranges from pale yellow to a more golden hue, reflecting both freshness and ripeness. The nose is intensely fragrant, opening with rose petals, lychee, and honey, alongside the classic spicy floral character that makes Gewürztraminer so distinctive. On the palate, it is full-bodied and generous, with layered aromatics, a rounded mouthfeel, and a long, persistent finish. The wine’s depth and structure suggest good short- to medium-term aging potential, where its floral and spicy notes can evolve beautifully.

Production
The grapes come from vineyards in Niclara and Cortaccia, two sites in Alto Adige known for producing aromatic white wines with clarity and intensity. After harvest, the wine undergoes around eight hours of maceration before fermentation, followed by ten months of aging: 80% on the lees in concrete vessels and 20% in tonneaux, then an additional period in concrete and bottle to refine the texture and aromatic complexity.

Food & Serving
This Gewürztraminer pairs especially well with spicy Asian cuisine, aromatic curries, foie gras, rich seafood dishes, and flavorful soft cheeses. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C to preserve its freshness and aromatic detail; decanting is generally not necessary, though a short aeration can help if served young.
