Description

Cantina Terlano’s Pinot Nero Monticol Riserva showcases Alto Adige Pinot Noir with a distinctive mountain-grown freshness and mineral character. From mid-altitude vineyards on sandy, stony soils, it combines fragrant berry fruit with a long, finely layered finish.

Tasting Notes
Brilliant ruby red in the glass, it opens with nuanced aromas of raspberry, blackberry and wild strawberry, complemented by elegant spice and a subtle flinty note. The palate is dry and balanced, with ripe berry flavours, a pronounced mineral edge and a long, complex finish. It is also described as suitable for extended cellaring.

Production
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected from mid-altitude vineyards with favourable exposures. Sandy, stony soils provide excellent drainage, while Alto Adige’s climate helps the fruit ripen while retaining freshness and aromatic clarity. After destemming, the grapes ferment slowly at controlled temperature in stainless-steel tanks, with gentle cap management for measured extraction. Malolactic fermentation softens the texture, followed by 12 months of ageing in wooden casks of different sizes before the final blend is assembled.

Food & Serving
Enjoy with roast beef, venison haunch or mature, savoury cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C. A short decant of 20–30 minutes can help the wine’s aromas open up, particularly when drinking it young.
