Terlano Lagrein Tradition 2025

Terlano Lagrein Tradition is a characterful Alto Adige red that captures both the elegance and depth of the Lagrein grape. Produced by Cantina Terlano, one of the region’s most respected and forward-thinking cooperatives, it combines mountain freshness with a distinctly traditional style. A wine rooted in local heritage, it reflects the long winemaking history of Trentino-Alto Adige while remaining remarkably refined and accessible.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a dark garnet-red color that already hints at its generous, brooding character. The nose is vivid and layered, with intense notes of cranberry and morello cherry, lifted by floral aromas of lilac and subtle hints of bay leaf, all rounded out by a delicate touch of chocolate. On the palate, it is winey, harmonious, and polished, with a delicate texture and refined tannins that give the wine shape without heaviness. The finish is balanced and elegant, suggesting good short- to medium-term aging potential while remaining highly enjoyable in its youth.

Production
This Lagrein comes from Trentino-Alto Adige, where the cool alpine climate and well-suited local terroir help preserve freshness and aromatic precision in the grape. The grapes are harvested and vinified with care, followed by a slow fermentation at controlled temperature to gently extract color and flavor. The wine is then matured for around seven months in large oak casks, a traditional élevage that supports structure and complexity without overpowering the fruit.

Food & Serving
Terlano Lagrein Tradition pairs beautifully with roasted meats, game, braised dishes, and rich mushroom-based recipes, as well as aged cheeses and hearty Alpine cuisine. Serve it slightly below room temperature, ideally around 16–18°C, to keep the fruit and freshness in balance. Decanting is not essential, but a brief aeration can help open the wine’s aromatic layers if enjoyed young.
