Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense ruby-red color with a delicate violet shimmer. The nose opens with earthy, mineral tones layered over ripe dark fruit, especially black cherry and plum jam, creating a bouquet that feels both generous and refined. On the palate, those fruity and slightly peaty notes come through in a smooth, aromatic way, giving the wine a pleasing contrast between softness and structure. Full-bodied and complex, it has the depth to develop further in bottle over the coming years, rewarding those who enjoy Lagrein’s more serious side.

Production
Made from 100% Lagrein and crafted by Cantina Terlano in Alto Adige, this wine reflects the region’s cool Alpine influence and mineral-rich soils, which are well suited to the variety. Lagrein is a native grape of South Tyrol, and here it is vinified as a Riserva to bring out greater concentration, complexity, and aromatic detail.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for red meats, game, and mature cheeses, and it also pairs beautifully with the hearty flavors of Alto Adige cuisine. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes to let the wine open fully and soften its tannins.
