Why shop with us?
Terlano Chardonnay Kreuth is a still white wine that combines ripe, expressive fruit with the distinctive mineral character of Alto Adige’s Terlano vineyards. Made by Cantina Terlano, a historic cooperative founded in 1893, it brings together careful vineyard work and measured oak ageing.
Tasting Notes
Bright straw yellow in the glass, with an expressive nose of apricot, passion fruit and star fruit, lifted by citrus, flinty mineral notes and a subtle touch of oak. The palate is soft and creamy, with a full, harmonious feel, integrated acidity and a juicy, persistent finish.
The supplied information suggests a capacity to develop over time, with an estimated drinking window of around five to ten years when properly stored. As the wine is listed as the 2025 vintage, its evolution will depend on the characteristics of that specific vintage.
Production
The grapes come from south- to southwest-facing vineyards in Terlano, at 260–350 metres above sea level. Their sandy, stony, free-draining soils contribute to the wine’s mineral texture and concentration. Chardonnay is hand-harvested and carefully sorted, then gently pressed as whole bunches; the must is clarified by natural settling. Fermentation takes place slowly at controlled temperatures in large oak casks, followed by partial malolactic fermentation and around eight to ten months on the lees, divided between stainless steel and large wooden casks.
Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled, at around 10–12°C, with roast chicken, grilled or baked fish, seafood risotto, or creamy pasta dishes. Its freshness and mineral edge also suit soft cheeses. A brief opening before serving should be sufficient; decanting is generally unnecessary, though a little time in the glass can help the aromas unfold.
