Tasting Notes
In the glass, 10 Vendemmie Limited Edition Rosso shows a deep, almost opaque ruby hue with garnet flashes at the rim, hinting at the maturity of some of the component vintages. The nose is intense and layered, with ripe black cherry, plum and blackberry compote wrapped in notes of sweet spice, cocoa, vanilla, licorice and a touch of dried herbs and tobacco from barrel aging. On the palate, this wine is full-bodied, plush and enveloping, with rich, dark fruit at its core—think black cherry, blackberry and sour cherry—supported by velvety tannins and well-integrated oak. Hints of chocolate, espresso, baking spice and a subtle balsamic note add further complexity, while lively acidity keeps the generous texture fresh and food-friendly. Sourced from selected Montepulciano vineyards across Abruzzo, 10 Vendemmie Limited Edition Rosso reflects the varied terroirs of the region, from coastal influences that bring freshness to more inland sites that deliver concentration and structure. Grapes are typically hand-harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve both fruit intensity and natural acidity. Each vintage is vinified separately, with temperature-controlled fermentation to extract color and aromatics while maintaining balance, followed by maturation—often in oak—to develop texture and complexity. Tenuta Ulisse’s team then undertakes a meticulous blending process, selecting and combining ten different harvests of Montepulciano to create a seamless cuvée that balances youth and maturity, fruit purity and evolved tertiary notes, in a limited-edition bottling.

This robust Montepulciano blend shines alongside richly flavored dishes such as grilled or braised red meats, slow-cooked lamb, osso buco, and hearty stews, as well as aged cheeses, charcuterie, and truffle-inflected pasta or risotto. It also pairs beautifully with wood-fired pizzas, game dishes and Mediterranean-inspired casseroles featuring tomato, herbs and olive oil. Serve at 16–18°C (60–64°F) to highlight its aromatic complexity and supple texture.
