Description

Vette di San Leonardo is a still Sauvignon Blanc from Trentino’s Vigneti delle Dolomiti, presented here in Magnum format. Shaped by a mountain setting and the moderating influence of Lake Garda, it pairs lively freshness and pronounced minerality with a heritage rooted in the historic San Leonardo estate, founded in 1724.

Tasting Notes
The nose brings together white peach and citrus with sage, Sichuan pepper and a subtle flinty note. Dry and softly textured on the palate, it balances pleasant acidity and a generous body with saline mineral character and an icy freshness, finishing notably long. Its youthful, fresh style is a defining feature. The supplied information does not specify a drinking window or further bottle-ageing potential.

Production
The Sauvignon Blanc comes from the San Leonardo vineyards near Avio, where the vines grow in the shelter of the Alps and benefit from Lake Garda’s moderating influence. Harvesting methods are not specified. In the winery, the grapes undergo a 12-hour cold maceration followed by gentle pressing and around 20 days of fermentation. The wine then rests on its lees for five months in stainless-steel tanks, preserving its fresh fruit, aromatic clarity and mineral character.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, around 8–10°C, with asparagus or mild cheeses; its freshness and saline edge also suit light, simply prepared dishes. Decanting is generally unnecessary—open shortly before serving and allow the wine to express its aromas in the glass.

Producer
San Leonardo is a historic estate in Trentino, founded in 1724 and now owned by the Marchesi Guerrieri Gonzaga family. Once an old monastery, the estate is known for wines that express its distinctive mountain terroir. Vette di San Leonardo, made with the involvement of oenologist Carlo Ferrini, offers a fresh, mineral take on Sauvignon Blanc from the Dolomites.
