In the glass, Il Pino di Biserno 2022 shows a deep, lustrous ruby colour with youthful purple reflections at the rim, hinting at both concentration and freshness. The nose is expressive and layered: ripe black and dark red cherries, plums and a touch of wild berry unfold alongside notes of sweet baking spices, mocha, cedar, pipe tobacco and a delicate rose-petal floral lift. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied yet finely structured, with sleek, polished tannins and a spine of bright, refreshing acidity that keeps everything focused and energetic. Juicy dark fruit notes are interwoven with hints of espresso, graphite, dried herbs and subtle oak spice, leading into a long, poised finish. Tenuta di Biserno lies in the coastal reaches of Tuscany, in the Alta Maremma near Bibbona and Bolgheri, where maritime breezes, abundant sunshine and mineral-rich, mixed soils of clay, sand and gravel create ideal conditions for Bordeaux varieties. Grapes for Il Pino di Biserno are typically harvested parcel by parcel at optimal ripeness, with careful selection in the vineyard and at the sorting table to ensure only the best clusters are used. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks to preserve aromatic clarity and fruit definition, followed by maturation in French oak barriques (a portion new, a portion used) to gently shape the tannins and add subtle complexity without overwhelming the wine’s natural freshness and elegance.

Il Pino di Biserno 2022 is a versatile food wine that shines alongside classic Tuscan-inspired dishes such as bistecca alla fiorentina, grilled lamb chops with rosemary, or slow-braised beef and wild boar ragù. It also pairs beautifully with roast duck, veal, game birds, aged Pecorino, Parmigiano-Reggiano and mushroom-based dishes like risotto or tagliatelle with porcini.
