Tasting Notes
In the glass, Ornellaia 2021 shows a deep, concentrated colour that hints at its intensity and age-worthiness. The nose unfolds with seductive layers of blackberries, dark cherries, red fruit, spice and subtle savory notes, all lifted by a refined aromatic freshness. On the palate, the wine is layered and powerful yet impeccably balanced, with ripe fruit, fine-grained tannins and impressive depth. The finish is long and persistent, with the structure and harmony to develop beautifully over many years in bottle.

Production
Produced in Bolgheri on Tuscany’s Tyrrhenian coast, Ornellaia benefits from a terroir shaped by sea breezes, excellent sunlight and well-suited vineyard sites. The estate is known for meticulous vineyard work and careful selection at harvest, with a Bordeaux-style blend vinified to emphasize precision, balance and complexity. The result is a wine made with exceptional attention to detail from vineyard to cellar.

Food & Serving
Ornellaia 2021 pairs wonderfully with premium cuts of beef, grilled lamb, venison, truffle dishes and rich mushroom-based preparations. Serve at around 16-18°C, and decanting for at least 1-2 hours is recommended to allow the aromas and structure to fully open. This is a wine that will also reward patience in the cellar.

Tenuta dell’Ornellaia was founded by Ludovico Antinori in the 1980s in the prestigious Bolgheri area, alongside some of Tuscany’s most celebrated vineyards. With early guidance from André Tchelistcheff and later consulting from Michel Rolland, the estate quickly established itself as one of Italy’s leading fine-wine producers. Today, Ornellaia is widely regarded as a reference point for modern Tuscan excellence and has earned an international reputation for quality and consistency.
