Description

Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Rosé 2008 is a striking vintage Champagne that combines elegance, intensity, and superb precision. Made entirely from Grand Cru fruit, it brings together the finesse of Chardonnay and the depth of Pinot Noir, with a touch of Bouzy red wine adding extra dimension and color. A wine of notable pedigree, it reflects one of Champagne’s most celebrated vintages with beautiful clarity.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep salmon-pink hue with copper reflections and a very fine, persistent mousse. The bouquet is layered and expressive, offering ripe red berries such as raspberry and cherry, lifted by notes of brioche, citrus, and a subtle spicy edge. On the palate, the wine feels harmonious and full-bodied, with a vivid balance between freshness and depth. The finish is long and graceful, with enough structure to suggest excellent aging potential and further development in bottle.

Production
This cuvée is crafted exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards in Champagne, with around 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. A portion of the Pinot Noir is vinified as red wine from the old Bouzy vines, contributing both color and complexity. The 2008 vintage, known for its tension and purity, gives the wine a refined structure and remarkable concentration.

Food & Serving
An excellent partner for refined dishes such as salmon, scallops, or veal, where its freshness and depth can shine. Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and consider a short decant only if you want to open up its aromatic complexity, though it is not strictly necessary.

Producer
Champagne Taittinger is one of the great historic houses of Champagne, renowned for its Chardonnay-led style and elegant, expressive wines. With deep roots in the region and a reputation built on consistency and finesse, the house has earned a place among the most respected names in premium Champagne. Comtes de Champagne is one of its flagship cuvées, representing the pinnacle of the estate’s craftsmanship.
