Description

Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 2014 is a benchmark Blanc de Blancs from one of Champagne’s most celebrated houses, crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grown in Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs. Renowned for its purity, finesse and layered complexity, this vintage captures the elegance and precision that have made Comtes de Champagne a reference point among prestige cuvées.

Tasting Notes
Pale, luminous gold with a delicate, persistent mousse, this Champagne opens with bright citrus, white peach and subtle floral notes. With air, classic autolytic nuances emerge, bringing brioche, toasted almonds and a chalky, mineral edge that adds refinement and depth. On the palate, the 2014 vintage feels both creamy and tightly focused, with a vibrant acidity that drives the wine forward. Ripe stone fruit, gentle nuttiness and a long, saline, mineral finish create a wine of impressive structure and energy. It is already highly expressive, but its balance and concentration suggest excellent aging potential over the coming years.

Production
Made entirely from Chardonnay sourced from selected Grand Cru parcels in the Côte des Blancs, Comtes de Champagne 2014 reflects the region’s prized chalk soils and cool, limestone-driven terroir. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with the care expected of a prestige cuvée, followed by extended lees aging to build texture, complexity and the wine’s signature creamy finesse.

Food & Serving
An ideal match for refined seafood dishes such as oysters, scallops, lobster or turbot, as well as sushi, caviar and delicate poultry preparations. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C. Decanting is not usually necessary, but allowing the wine a little time in the glass can help reveal its full aromatic range.

Producer
Champagne Taittinger is one of the great historic houses of Champagne, known for its Chardonnay-led style, elegance and consistency. With deep roots in the region and a strong reputation for producing refined, terroir-driven cuvées, the house has earned international acclaim, and Comtes de Champagne stands as one of its most iconic achievements.
