Description

Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 2008 is one of the house’s most celebrated prestige cuvées, made exclusively from Chardonnay grown in Grand Cru vineyards of the Côte des Blancs. The 2008 vintage stands out for its remarkable balance of power, precision, and elegance, and after more than a decade in Taittinger’s historic cellars it has developed impressive depth and refinement.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shines a bright, luminous gold with a stream of fine, persistent bubbles. The bouquet is refined and expressive, opening with citrus and white flowers before unfolding into toasted nuts, brioche, and delicate hints of vanilla. On the palate, it is beautifully balanced between freshness and richness, with a precise mineral line, creamy texture, and notes of ripe orchard fruit. The finish is long, elegant, and persistent, with enough structure to suggest excellent aging potential for years to come.

Production
Made from 100% Chardonnay sourced from Grand Cru sites in the Côte des Blancs, this Blanc de Blancs reflects the chalky soils and cool climate that define the region’s finest terroirs. The grapes are carefully harvested to preserve purity and freshness, and the wine undergoes traditional champagne vinification before extended aging in Taittinger’s historic cellars, which adds complexity and finesse.

Food & Serving
This champagne is a natural match for oysters, scallops, lobster, caviar, and other refined seafood dishes, as well as lightly prepared white fish or delicate poultry. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and a short decant is not recommended; instead, allow it a few minutes in the glass to fully reveal its aromas.

Producer
Champagne Taittinger is one of the great historic houses of Champagne, known for its Chardonnay-driven style, elegance, and consistency. With deep roots in the region and a strong reputation for prestige cuvées, the house has earned global recognition for wines that combine finesse, longevity, and a distinctly refined character.
