Suavia Azienda Agricola, Bianco Veronese IGT Le Rive, 2021

Suavia’s Bianco Veronese IGT Le Rive 2021 is a distinctive late-harvest Garganega that shows a richer, more contemplative side of Soave. Sourced from the hillside Le Rive vineyard just outside Fittà, it combines ripe fruit, texture, and precision in a style that has become one of the estate’s signatures.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Le Rive shows a luminous golden hue that hints at its ripeness and concentration. The nose is highly perfumed and layered, with aromas of tropical fruit, pineapple, and a subtle citrus lift that adds freshness. On the palate, it is generous and silky, with plenty of depth and a well-judged balance between ripe fruit and vibrant acidity. Notes of pineapple and grapefruit lead the way, while time on the lees adds extra complexity and a rounded mouthfeel. This is a wine with strong ageing potential, capable of developing further nuance and softness over the next several years.

Production
Le Rive is made from late-harvest Garganega grown on the slopes near Fittà in Veneto, where the vineyard’s exposure and hillside position help bring both ripeness and character to the fruit. The grapes are picked at near-overripe maturity in late October and pressed as whole clusters, preserving delicacy while capturing concentration. Around 30% of the must is fermented in oak barrels, with the remainder in stainless steel, followed by a long, natural 20-day fermentation and 15 months of ageing on the lees to build texture and complexity.

Food & Serving
Thanks to its richness and structure, Le Rive works beautifully with smoked meats, mature goat cheese, and other savory dishes with a bit of intensity. It is best served slightly chilled, around 10–12°C, and does not require decanting, although a short period in the glass can help the aromas open further.
