Steorra Brut Sparkling Russian River Valley

Steorra Brut is a polished non-vintage sparkling wine from Russian River Valley, crafted from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and made with the traditional method. It marks the sparkling debut of Joe Wagner, whose track record with premium California wines has already made him one of the region’s most talked-about winemakers.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a refined mousse and a clean, elegant profile. The nose opens with fresh lemon, grapefruit, green apple, and a subtle toastiness reminiscent of fresh-baked bread. On the palate, the wine is crisp and lightly dry, with soft bubbles and a balanced, refreshing finish. It delivers a style that could easily be mistaken for quality Brut Champagne in a blind tasting, and while it is approachable now, it has enough structure to hold nicely in the near term.

Sourced from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, the wine benefits from one of California’s most celebrated cool-climate terroirs. The region’s long growing season and coastal influence help preserve acidity while developing ripe, expressive fruit. Steorra is made using the traditional sparkling wine method, with careful winemaking throughout to ensure finesse, balance, and consistency.

A versatile sparkling wine, Steorra Brut works beautifully with oysters, sushi, tempura, fried chicken, creamy soft cheeses, and light canapés. Serve well chilled at around 6–8°C, and decanting is not recommended; simply open and pour to preserve the wine’s freshness and bubbles.

Steorra is part of Joe Wagner’s Copper Cane Wines & Provisions portfolio, bringing his acclaimed California winemaking style into the sparkling category. Wagner is a third-generation winemaker from the family behind Caymus, and he made his name early with Belle Glos before going on to build a string of successful wine brands. Known for combining ambition, hard work, and a sharp instinct for premium wine, he has become one of the most influential producers in California.
