Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a warm amber-golden tone with inviting depth from its port cask maturation. This whisky is crafted entirely from Danish barley that is floor-malted for a more hands-on, traditional approach, then double distilled in copper pot stills heated by direct fire. The spirit is matured in first-fill Tawny Port casks, which bring sweetness, dried-fruit richness, and gentle spice to complement Stauning’s signature smoky house style. The result is a whisky shaped by local ingredients, careful craftsmanship, and the influence of fortified wine casks.

Food & Serving
Best served neat or with just a few drops of water to open up the smoke and fruit notes. It pairs well with dark chocolate, salted caramel desserts, blue cheese, or smoked almonds, and also works beautifully alongside cured meats and game. Serve at room temperature, and decanting is not necessary.
