Tasting Notes
In the glass, Lyndenhurst 2018 shows a deep ruby color that hints at its concentration and structure. The nose is layered and inviting, with blackcurrant, black cherry, cedar, spice, and a subtle touch of vanilla from oak aging. The palate is full-bodied and well balanced, offering generous dark fruit, silky tannins, and excellent structure. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, while Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc add finesse, depth, and aromatic complexity. The finish is long and harmonious, and while this wine is already highly enjoyable now, it also has the balance to evolve gracefully with further cellaring.

Production
The grapes come from both Spottswoode’s own vineyards and carefully selected parcels across Napa Valley, giving the wine a broader expression of the region’s character. The blend is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by smaller portions of Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, then matured in French oak barrels to enhance structure, polish, and aromatic detail.

Food & Serving
This is a natural match for grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, or dishes with rich mushroom sauces. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended if opened young to help the wine show its full aromatic range and texture.
