Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark ruby color that hints at its concentration and depth. The nose unfolds with layered aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, cedar, tobacco, and a touch of spice, delivering the kind of complexity Napa Cabernet lovers look for. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with elegant tannins, lively acidity, and a long, refined finish. The 2017 vintage is already expressive, but its structure and oak integration suggest excellent aging potential over many years, allowing the wine to develop even more nuance and tertiary complexity.

Production
This wine comes from Spottswoode’s organically certified estate vineyards in Napa Valley, where the warm California climate and carefully farmed site contribute to ripe fruit, freshness, and concentration. The blend is composed of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot, selected to bring structure, aromatic lift, and depth. After harvest, the wine was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which were new. This élevage adds polish, spice, and subtle toast while preserving the estate’s elegant, site-driven character.

Food & Serving
Pair this Cabernet Sauvignon with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, or aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C for the best expression of fruit, structure, and aromatics.
