Sine Qua Non 17th Nail in my Cranium Syrah 2005

Sine Qua Non is based in Ventura County, just north of Los Angeles, with vineyards primarily in Santa Barbara County. The estate focuses on Rhône varieties and farms with an eye toward expressing what nature provides rather than following a rigid production formula, resulting in wines that are both distinctive and deeply site-driven. The grapes for this 2005 Syrah were produced in exceptionally limited quantities, and vinification is guided by Manfred Krankl’s hands-on, highly individual approach to winemaking.

Food & Serving
This Syrah pairs beautifully with rich, flavorful dishes such as grilled lamb, braised short ribs, roasted game, or charred mushrooms. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young; an older bottle may only need a gentle decant to remove sediment.
