Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Brunello typically shows a deep ruby hue with garnet reflections, hinting at both concentration and refinement. The nose is layered and expressive, often offering ripe red cherry, wild berries, dried herbs, violets, spice, and a subtle earthy note that speaks to the estate’s terroir. On the palate, it is structured and savory, with the firm tannins and bright acidity that give Brunello its signature longevity. The fruit is supported by notes of tobacco, leather, and mineral depth, creating a wine that feels both powerful and poised. It has excellent aging potential and should continue to evolve beautifully over the coming years.

Production
Manachiara comes from Tenute Silvio Nardi’s oldest vineyard, planted more than 40 years ago on the eastern side of Montalcino, an area known for producing Brunellos with firm structure and vivid aromatic lift. The wine is made exclusively from Sangiovese and is only bottled in exceptional vintages, with production limited to around 10,000 bottles. This single-vineyard selection highlights the estate’s terroir-driven approach and the precision of its vineyard management and vinification.

Food & Serving
Serve this Brunello at around 16–18°C and, if possible, decant for at least 1 hour to allow the aromatics and tannins to open up. It pairs beautifully with braised meats, roast lamb, game, mushroom dishes, aged cheeses, and classic Tuscan cuisine such as bistecca alla Fiorentina or pappardelle with wild boar ragù.
