Sheridan Vineyard Mystique 2018 is a beautifully composed, Bordeaux-inspired red from Washington’s Yakima Valley, offering impressive depth, polish, and value in equal measure. Crafted by self-taught winemaker Scott Greer from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, it reflects both the elegance of the blend and the character of Sheridan’s estate-grown fruit.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Mystique shows a deep ruby hue that immediately signals richness and concentration. The nose is generous and layered, with blackberry, cassis, blueberry, mocha, dark chocolate, dried spices, and a touch of vanilla rising from the glass. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet refined, with plush black and blue fruit framed by supple tannins and a graceful, rounded texture. The oak influence is well integrated, adding subtle spice and depth without overwhelming the fruit. This is a wine built to drink beautifully now, but it has the balance and structure to develop further over the next 8-10 years.

Production
The grapes for Mystique come from Sheridan Vineyard’s own sites in Yakima Valley, Washington, where the warm, dry climate and well-drained soils help Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot ripen evenly while retaining freshness. The wine is matured for 17 months in one-year-old French oak barrels, a choice that allows the fruit to remain front and center while adding complexity, texture, and spice.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, venison, or hearty mushroom dishes. Serve at 16-18°C and consider decanting for 30-60 minutes if serving young, to let the wine open fully and soften its edges.
