Made from 100% Pinot Noir, Sekthaus BurkhardtSchür Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut is an elegantly structured German sparkling wine shaped by an extended 88 months on the lees. Disgorged in November 2020, it offers a refined expression of the traditional-method sparkling wines now gaining recognition in Germany.

Tasting Notes
A fine mousse carries aromas of ripe yellow stone fruit, citrus peel and redcurrant, alongside brioche and subtle herbal notes. The palate is slender and precise, balancing fruit with savoury spice and mineral character, and finishing with notable length. Its long lees ageing brings depth and texture. Enjoy it while its freshness and finely detailed mousse are vivid; further ageing potential is not specified.

Production
The wine is made entirely from Pinot Noir. The grapes are reported to come from Bürgstadt and Glottertal, giving the cuvée a cross-regional German character. It spent 88 months ageing on the lees before disgorgement in November 2020. Further details of the harvest and winemaking are not available.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, around 8–10°C, with roast poultry, pork, smoked fish or creamy mushroom dishes. Its freshness and savoury depth also suit hard cheeses and delicate canapés. Decanting is not recommended; pour gently to preserve the mousse.
