Schrader Cellars’ Heritage Clone Cabernet Sauvignon from the legendary To Kalon Vineyard is a striking expression of one of Napa Valley’s most celebrated sites. Made from clone 31—the historic Cabernet Sauvignon selection originally planted by Robert Mondavi—it combines pedigree, precision, and the richly textured style for which Schrader Cellars is known.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows deep, concentrated color and an immediately expressive bouquet. Aromas of orange peel, herbs, toasted wood, grated dark chocolate, and ripe black fruit rise from the glass, setting the stage for a wine that feels both polished and powerful. The palate is elegant yet intense, with layers of dark, mature fruit framed by fine tannins and well-integrated oak. Schrader’s fruit-driven style gives the wine immediate impact, but this is a Cabernet Sauvignon with serious aging potential; time in the cellar should bring even greater complexity and harmony.

Sourced from select rows in the iconic To Kalon Vineyard, this cuvée captures the depth and distinction of one of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon terroirs in the United States. The 2018 vintage was matured for 20 months in new French oak barrels, adding structure, spice, and refinement to the wine’s naturally rich fruit profile.

This is a wine built for equally serious food pairings such as dry-aged ribeye, grilled lamb, beef tenderloin, or slow-braised short ribs. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromatics and structure to fully open.
