Scarzello Langhe Nebbiolo 2024

Scarzello Langhe Nebbiolo 2024 is a dry red wine from Piedmont’s celebrated Langhe hills, made entirely from Nebbiolo. Produced by the family-run estate Scarzello Giorgio & Figli, it combines the grape’s naturally distinctive character with a rounded, approachable style—offering an elegant introduction to the traditions of Barolo country. Its refined structure also gives it the potential to develop beautifully in bottle.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a clear ruby-red colour and opens with expressive aromas of ripe red fruits. On the palate, it is rounded and well balanced, with a pleasing structure and a precise expression of Nebbiolo’s character. The careful maturation contributes a soft, integrated feel while preserving the wine’s freshness and varietal identity. Enjoy it now for its graceful fruit and balance, or allow it to mature over the next five to ten years. With time in bottle, its aromas and structure should become increasingly integrated and complex.

Production
The grapes come from the Langhe area in the heart of Piedmont, where the region’s distinctive climate and soils help give the wine both character and ageing potential. At Scarzello, the Nebbiolo undergoes a long maceration on the skins, allowing for gentle, precise extraction of colour, aroma and structure. The wine is then matured carefully in wooden casks, helping its aromatic components integrate and lending the palate a pleasing softness without obscuring the identity of the grape.

Food & Serving
Serve at 14–16°C, ideally after decanting for around one hour to allow the wine’s aromas and structure to open. Its balanced profile pairs particularly well with meat and game dishes, pork-based recipes, richly flavoured pasta and risotto, as well as a selection of mature cheeses.

Scarzello Giorgio & Figli is a family-owned winery founded in 1947 and rooted in the Langhe of Piedmont. Under the guidance of oenologist Federico Scarzello, the estate works with grapes from its own vineyards to express the character of the area with clarity and consistency. With approximately five hectares under vine and an annual production of around 48,000 bottles, the winery continues to uphold Piedmont’s long-standing winemaking traditions while producing wines of elegance, identity and cellar potential.
