Bulle de Rosé Vieilles Vignes Extra Brut is a beautifully precise and characterful Champagne from Frédéric Savart, made from old vines and bottled with the kind of detail that has made the grower’s name so respected among Champagne lovers. Combining Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Premier Cru vineyards, it offers the finesse of a small-production wine with the depth and personality that come from mature vines and careful handcraft.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Champagne shows a delicate rosé hue with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is expressive and refined, with red berries, citrus peel, rose petal, and subtle pastry and mineral notes that reflect both the blend and the chalky Champagne terroir.
On the palate, it is crisp, energetic, and dry, with a taut Extra Brut profile that highlights freshness and purity. Flavors of wild strawberry, blood orange, and redcurrant are balanced by chalk, salinity, and a gentle creamy texture. It is ready to enjoy now for its precision and charm, though it should also hold nicely over the next few years as its complexity develops.
Production
This wine comes from Premier Cru vineyards in Champagne, where chalk-rich soils and cool conditions help preserve acidity and finesse. The use of old vines adds concentration and depth, while harvesting is carried out carefully to protect the quality of the fruit. Vinification is handled with a focus on clarity and expression, resulting in a polished rosé Champagne that remains true to its vineyard origin.
Food & Serving
Serve chilled at around 8–10°C. It is a superb partner for smoked salmon, tuna tartare, roast poultry, sashimi, charcuterie, or lightly spiced dishes, and it also works well with soft-ripened cheeses. Decanting is not recommended; simply open and enjoy while the wine is fresh and vibrant.
Producer
Frédéric Savart is one of Champagne’s admired grower-producers, known for crafting expressive, terroir-driven wines from carefully farmed Premier Cru parcels in the Montagne de Reims. His reputation has grown steadily among collectors and sommeliers for wines that combine precision, energy, and depth. Savart’s small-scale approach and attention to old-vine material have helped establish him as one of the region’s standout modern producers.
