Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Shiraz typically shows a deep, dark ruby color with excellent concentration. The nose is expressive and layered, offering blackberries, plums, black pepper, and subtle notes of violets, with hints of earth, smoke, and gentle oak adding extra complexity. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, with ripe dark fruit balanced by fresh acidity and firm but well-integrated tannins. Spicy, savory notes carry through the finish, giving the wine both intensity and elegance. While enjoyable now, it should continue to develop nicely over the next few years, gaining additional softness and complexity with time.

Production
Saronsberg Cellar is located in South Africa’s Tulbagh region, where warm days and cooler nights help produce Shiraz with ripe fruit character and good balance. The vineyards benefit from varied soils and a terroir that supports concentration and freshness. The grapes are typically harvested at optimal ripeness and vinified with careful fermentation and maturation, often in oak, to build structure, depth, and texture.

Food & Serving
This Shiraz pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, beef short ribs, venison, or richly seasoned dishes such as barbecue and Moroccan-style cuisine. It also works well with hard cheeses and roasted vegetables. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended if drinking young to let the wine open up fully.
