Santa Barbara’s Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Stefano Antonucci 2024 is a characterful white wine from Marche, made entirely from Verdicchio Bianco. Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense yellow color with bright golden highlights. The nose is open and aromatic, with pronounced exotic fruit notes layered over fresh citrus and subtle savory nuances. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and powerful, yet balanced by a lively freshness that keeps it energetic and precise. The texture is broad and enveloping, while the citrus finish adds lift and elegance. Thanks to its structure and barrel aging, it has the capacity to develop further complexity over time, though it is already generous and inviting in its youth.

Production
Produced in the hills of Barbara in the Marche region, the vineyards sit at around 260 meters above sea level and benefit from eastern and south-eastern exposure as well as the influence of the Adriatic Sea. The vines are rooted in medium-textured clay soils, which contribute to the wine’s depth, volume, and firm structure. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks over four weeks, followed by maturation in French oak barrels of different sizes, a method chosen to integrate the wine’s aromas while preserving its fresh, varietal character.

Food & Serving
This Verdicchio is an excellent match for fish dishes, shellfish, poultry, and flavorful light meat preparations. It also pairs beautifully with semi-aged cheeses and richly seasoned Mediterranean cuisine. Serve it chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and consider brief decanting if you want to give its aromatics a little more space in the glass.
