Sourced from the amphitheater-shaped Valmaggiore vineyard in Vezza d’Alba, it combines the grape’s signature elegance with the area’s distinctive sandy soils and sun-soaked microclimate.

Tasting Notes
Expect a bright, translucent ruby hue typical of Nebbiolo, with a graceful and lifted aromatic profile. The nose should show red cherry, rose petal, wild strawberry, and subtle spice, layered with the mineral nuance and delicate earthiness that often come from Roero’s sandy soils. On the palate, this wine is likely to be precise and silky, with firm but polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, savory finish. It is a wine built for complexity rather than power, and while enjoyable in youth for its perfume and freshness, it should also develop nicely over the next several years, gaining more depth and harmony.

Production
Valmaggiore sits in Roero, on the left bank of the Tanaro River, where its concave, amphitheater-like shape faces the sun and benefits from excellent exposure. The vineyard’s soft, sandy soils and distinctive microclimate help produce Nebbiolo with finesse and aromatic clarity, and the estate emphasizes fully manual work in the vineyard, from row-by-row cultivation to harvesting only the ripest grapes. Vinification follows a philosophy of respecting both nature and tradition, aiming to preserve the purity and originality of the fruit.

Food & Serving
This Nebbiolo pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, veal, mushroom risotto, tajarin with truffle, and braised meats, as well as aged cheeses. Serve it slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if enjoyed young to help open up its aromatics and soften the structure.
