Why shop with us?
San Giusto a Rentennano Chianti Classico is a beautifully crafted organic red that captures the soul of Tuscany in a single bottle. Made from Sangiovese with a touch of Canaiolo Nero, it combines freshness, elegance, and regional character, shaped by one of the most respected estates in Chianti Classico. This is a wine that speaks clearly of tradition, with a refined modern touch.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the classic appeal of Chianti Classico: a bright ruby hue with inviting clarity. The nose opens with fresh floral notes, ripe red cherry, and fragrant spice, leading into a palate that is smooth, lively, and vinous, with a fine balance of fruit and structure.
The flavor profile is marked by juicy red fruit, peppery lift, and subtle savory nuances that give the wine extra dimension. Its finish lingers with cherry, spice, and a pleasantly tangy edge, while the well-integrated tannins suggest solid short- to mid-term aging potential.
Production
The wine comes from organically farmed vineyards in Tuscany’s Chianti Classico zone, where the soils and climate help Sangiovese retain both freshness and aromatic precision. Grapes are hand-harvested at the end of September, ensuring careful selection and optimal ripeness. Fermentation and skin maceration last around 13 days, followed by 11 months of aging in oak casks, tonneaux, and barriques to build texture and complexity.
Food & Serving
This Chianti Classico is a natural match for Tuscan cuisine, including pasta with tomato sauce, roast chicken, grilled meats, braised dishes, and aged pecorino. It is best served slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C. Decanting is not essential, but a short aeration can help the wine open up beautifully after bottling.
Producer
Fattoria San Giusto a Rentennano is a historic estate in the heart of Chianti Classico, long admired for wines that combine authenticity, precision, and depth. The property has earned a strong reputation for its organic approach and consistent quality across both traditional and more age-worthy bottlings. Over the years, it has become one of the benchmark producers of the region, especially for lovers of expressive Sangiovese.
