Description

Ruinart Blanc de Blancs is a refined Champagne centred on the elegance and purity of Chardonnay. Recognised for its luminous style, delicate texture and fresh citrus character, it expresses the signature finesse of Ruinart, the oldest established Champagne house, founded in 1729.

Tasting Notes
The Champagne displays a bright, pale-gold colour with a fine, persistent stream of bubbles. Its nose is fresh and expressive, suggesting white flowers, citrus zest and ripe orchard fruit, with subtle mineral nuances. On the palate, it is graceful and vibrant, combining lemon, pear and white peach with a creamy mousse and a clean, chalky finish. Best enjoyed while its freshness and precision are at their peak, although careful cellaring can allow additional complexity to develop over the coming years.

Production
As a Blanc de Blancs, this cuvée is made from white grapes, with Chardonnay at its centre. The wine reflects Ruinart’s emphasis on freshness, finesse and clarity, although specific vineyard parcels, harvest methods and vinification details are not provided for this bottle.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C in a tulip-shaped Champagne glass to preserve both its aromas and fine mousse. It is an excellent aperitif and pairs beautifully with oysters, prawns, scallops, sushi, delicate fish dishes and soft, lightly seasoned cheeses. Decanting is not normally necessary, though opening the bottle a few minutes before serving can help its aromas unfold.

Producer
Founded in Reims in 1729, Ruinart holds a distinguished place in Champagne’s history and is widely regarded as the region’s first established Champagne house. The maison is particularly associated with Chardonnay-led wines and is known for its elegant house style, distinctive chalk-cellar heritage and long-standing contribution to the prestige of Champagne.

Michi is back from the Matthias restaurant in Berlin. I know everyone is talking about small Champagne houses. But today I want to show you the Blanc de Blancs from Ruinart. Perfect, stable, it simply has a good drinking flow. It's okay to drink big sometimes too. Cheers.
