Ruggeri’s Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze Dry 2025 comes from Cartizze, the celebrated hillside subzone prized for its distinctive expression of Glera. Made in the Charmat method, it pairs a fine, persistent mousse with ripe-fruit character and the floral note of wisteria, continuing a tradition shaped by Ruggeri’s roots in Valdobbiadene.
Tasting Notes
Pale straw yellow in appearance, with a fine, persistent stream of bubbles. The nose brings together aromas of ripe fruit and wisteria blossom.
Production
The grapes come from the slopes of Cartizze in the Valdobbiadene hills, where the local terrain and microclimate give the wine its regional character. Harvest takes place in September, followed by white winemaking at controlled temperatures. A slow second fermentation in pressurised tanks using the Charmat method helps preserve the wine’s fresh aromas and develop a fine, lasting mousse. Ruggeri describes its approach as organic and sustainable.
Food & Serving
Serve well chilled, around 6–8°C, at the end of a meal with traditional desserts, panettone or dry biscuits. It can also complement selected cheeses and dishes featuring pâté. Decanting is not recommended for this sparkling wine; serve it shortly after opening.
Producer
Founded in 1950 by the Bisol family, Ruggeri has family roots in the area dating back to the nineteenth century. Based in Valdobbiadene, the winery is closely associated with the region’s celebrated sparkling wines and the Cartizze hills. Its winemaking is led by oenologist Fabio Roversi, with a stated focus on sustainable production and expressing local terroir.
