Ron Espero Reserva Balboa is a Caribbean rum blend combining rums from the Dominican Republic and Barbados. Named for Spanish explorer Vasco Núñez de Balboa, it stands out for a two-stage maturation that brings together bourbon-cask ageing and a further rest in seasoned French oak.

Distillation & Maturation
The blend combines rums from the Dominican Republic and Barbados. It is aged in bourbon casks in the Caribbean, then finished for six to twelve months in old, used French oak casks that previously held very old Nicaraguan rum.

Serving Suggestions
Try it neat at room temperature to explore the influence of its two stages of maturation, or serve it over a large ice cube. It can also be enjoyed in a rum Old Fashioned, where a little bitters and sugar let the rum remain centre stage.
