Ridge Vineyards’ Lytton Springs is one of California’s great old-school Zinfandel blends, sourced from the historic Lytton Springs Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley. First made in 1972 and still shaped by Ridge’s signature precision, this is a deeply characterful red with power, balance, and a long-standing reputation for excellence.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a very dark, насыщенная ruby-purple colour. The nose opens with ripe blackberry, blood orange, pepper, liquorice, tobacco leaf, and dried flowers, giving it both richness and aromatic complexity. The palate is full and mouthcoating, with layers of dark berry fruit, spice, savoury herbs, and a lifted, slightly earthy edge. The blend’s structure gives the wine real depth and freshness, and while it is already impressive now, it has the concentration and backbone to develop beautifully over time.

Production
Lytton Springs Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley offers a warm Californian terroir that is especially well suited to old-vine Zinfandel and its blending partners. The fruit is sustainably grown and harvested for ripeness, then destemmed before fermentation. The wine is matured in American oak barrels, with a small proportion of new oak to add subtle spice and complexity without overpowering the fruit.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for barbecue, grilled ribs, slow-cooked beef, lamb, peppered sausages, or richly flavoured Mediterranean dishes. Serve slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about an hour if drinking young to let the aromatics and texture fully open up.
