Produced in the heart of Lombardy from carefully selected grapes, it combines rarity, precision, and the long-standing heritage of Valtellina’s mountain winemaking.

Tasting Notes
Expect a deep, garnet-tinged red with the elegant structure Nebbiolo is known for. The nose is likely to show lifted red berries, dried cherry, floral notes, spice, and subtle earthy nuances, with the appassimento process adding layers of richness and complexity. On the palate, this wine should be concentrated yet refined, balancing firm tannins with vibrant acidity and generous fruit depth. The drying of the grapes brings extra intensity and warmth, while the oak aging adds polish and a touch of savory spice. It has the structure to age gracefully for several years, developing more tertiary notes over time.

Production
Made entirely from 100% Nebbiolo grown on loose, acidic soils at around 500 meters above sea level in Valtellina, this wine reflects a cool mountain terroir with excellent drainage and strong diurnal contrast. The grapes are carefully selected and then dried for around 90 days on special racks in Ca' Rizzieri, where the dry, well-ventilated climate naturally concentrates sugars and flavors before vinification. After fermentation, the wine matures for 15 months in French Allier oak and is then bottle-aged for at least a further 12 months.

Food & Serving
This is a superb partner for rich meat dishes such as braised beef, venison, roast lamb, and game, as well as aged cheeses and mushroom-based risottos. Serve at 16-18°C, and consider decanting for about an hour to allow the aromas and structure to open fully.
